Children and young people’s problems are a worry for you as well as for them. Are you worried that your son or daughter isn’t as happy as they otherwise could be, and wish there was something you could do to help them? THE THRIVE PROGRAMME® can really help.
If your child lacks confidence, it can be easy for them to create fears and insecurities when faced with challenges in their lives. They may have social anxiety, and feel harshly judged by others, or feel shy and unable to speak up for themselves.
With the pressures of social media, they may also be comparing themselves to others, both physically or intellectually. When children lack belief in their ability to cope with situations, this can lead to them actively avoiding situations, such as socialising or school itself.

The Thrive Programme
The Thrive Programme® is a compelling, six-session training programme that helps you and your child to really understand themselves, their beliefs and the thinking that is causing their anxiety and symptoms. Once you have that insight, it really can be easy to think differently, increase self- esteem, feel more in control and change old patterns of behaviour.
We advise that either one or both parents join in their child’s sessions if they are under 16. This will help you to gain an understanding of why your child has the issues they have. In turn that will enable you to help and support them outside of the sessions in the best possible way.
Very often, frustrated parents come to me not knowing how to best respond to their children’s behaviour. Unfortunately, despite parents best efforts and intentions some parenting styles and decisions can actually lead to symptoms. It can escalate anxieties in their children.
The Thrive Programme is most effective with children over the age of 10. That’s because they are at an age where they can understand, process and put into action what we discuss in the session. Having said that , bright children under ten who are mature for their age can still certainly benefit.
If your children are younger and you see that they are experiencing difficulties and you are wanting some help too, we often will suggest that both parents study The Thrive Programme together. This will give both parents a clear insight into how beliefs and attitudes are formed and how fragile self-belief and self-esteem can be.
The Thrive Programme® is a life-changing psychological training programme for everyone that empowers you with the skills, insights and resources to take control of your life, overcome any symptoms or problems you have, and thrive!
