Self-Confidence

Permanently Resolve Self-Confidence Problems and Issues, with the Thrive Programme, in Ely Cambridge and Woolpit, near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

People who are confident and self-assured tend to be those who are naturally sociable, who achieve success in their chosen profession or career and who take full advantage of all opportunities that come their way in life.  People are attracted to confident people and enjoy spending time in their company:  they tend to be happier and more relaxed, and are often easier to be with than those who lack self-confidence and self-esteem.

Many of us will suffer with a lack of confidence and low self esteem at some point in our lives and this is only natural, however for some people this lack of confidence is an almost constant backdrop in their lives.

Life can be quite challenging for those who have poor levels of self-confidence, self-belief and/or self-image.  For example, making and keeping friends can be difficult; socialising in large groups may create anxiety or worry; going for job interviews may be problematic; speaking on the telephone may not be easy; even buying new clothes may be stressful.  For this group of people, there are likely to be unresolved issues from their past that are undermining their confidence levels on a daily basis.

Many of the features, and the impact, of low self-confidence mirror issues associated with problems such as anxietystress, and social phobia and it is likely that many people who have low self-confidence also suffer aspects of these other difficulties.

At Ely and Woolpit, we have substantial experience of helping people to reduce their worries and anxieties in relation to specific events.

The Thrive Programme will show you  how to fully resolve the issues that have lead to your low self-confidence, leaving you free to enjoy a more fulfilled, relaxed and self-assured approach to life in the future. (For more info on the Thrive Programme clickhere)

At our Centres, we have found that confidence issues can be very effectively improved using the Thrive Programme and issues can usually be resolved within about 7 sessions.

"I have to do things absolutly perfectly. Half measures just won't do".

Cecilia had a very sucessful career in a male dominant profession in the city where eventually she burnt out. Quite understandable her "get up and go" attitude that she had developed previously held her in good stead and eventually she set up her own business. Cecilia came to see me because although she was working really hard, her business wasnt a profitable as she needed. She found that she was doing lots for other people and would feel dreadful if her customers were, for what ever reason, unhappy with her work. Her self esteem was non existent. Today I was asked if I could play netball tonight for a team tha's one short. You helped me change "id love to but I can't tonight" to "Yes please, where do I sign". This is just one of a long line of "Yes Please's" or I Can do's that make up my dialy positives. Life is a constant stream of challenges that I rush head-long into with great gusto. I really am me again now and I rather like that. Cecilia H Cambridgeshire.

My writers block is getting in the way of my ability to run my business successfully

Working through The Thrive Programme helped me with my loss.

I met the Lorraine several years ago. She and her husband had a thriving business but sadly he died and she found running the business on her own extrememly difficult but the worst thing for her was the fact that she really scared of bing on her own and was frightened of her future. Thank you for being there and listening. With your help and guidance and The Thrive Programme everything now makes sense. I am choosing to get on with my life and thoroughly enjoying it. My spectacles are clear. I know how to approach things now. As I take more control of my own life – the book is a continual source of reference and all becomes clearer by the day as I begin to understand my self well and manage my unhelpful thought patterns. Brilliant; being on my own is no longer scared of being on my own. Lorraine M Suffolk

I'm no good at anything, no one wants to be my friend and school just sucks!

Lucy and her Mum came to see me after being recommended by a friend. Lucy had recently moved from a small primary school into a very large secondary school and was finding the transition very difficult to deal with. She became emotionally volatile and verbally aggressive and her Mum was getting very distressed, not really knowing how to help. They came together for the sessions and we worked through the Thrive for Teenagers Programme . Please This email address is being protected from spambots. "We are so glad we took the plunge and came to see you. Both Lucy and myself have learnt a lot: how to turn things around by being able to view life in a clearer way.  It is very apparent to us that with certain things or situations, Lucy is thinking them through and making an effort to try, where before she would just blank them out or write them off, and let herself believe that she's not good/nice enough to warrant a chance.  This means she is engaging much more with each of us, she is employing the techniques you have taught her and is generally much happier.  I would describe it as being set free from her thought prison. Lucy was rather sad leaving the last session.  She didn't want them to end. I had never seen her talking like that to anyone.  It has always been monosyllabic answers before. So it must have been a big release for her. We will be eternally grateful to you for helping Lucy to redirect her life (not forgetting how this has had a positive effect on our worry levels too). I would recommend you to anyone caught out by the stresses of life and hope to that we will see you around... Kate is calm, professional, warm and friendly and I always feel very comfortable talking things through with her. She has a real gift with people and her intuition and knowledge about my fears and worries, made the whole process extremely easy and very successful. I am so grateful for the help she has given me; I will definitely be using her in the future and recommending her to my family and friends."

"I first saw Kate for help with my fear of public speaking and the stress it was causing me. I have to admit that although going into sessions with an open mind, I did have my doubts that anything could help me when I felt almost paralysed with fear. The results I had with Kate however were astonishing and over the course of a few weeks, I couldn’t believe that not only was I able to deliver presentations to large numbers, I actually started to enjoy it! Kate also helped greatly with my irrational fear of spiders as well as a difficult time for me leading up to an operation. Looking back now, I honestly feel like a different person and as if Kate has unlocked, and helped me to let go of, things that were holding me back in all areas of my life."

"I had woken up in the middle of the night sweating and feeling like I was going to be very ill (I thought food poisoning from the symptoms) and I got myself into a bit of a state. Then all of a sudden your voice just kicked in, I imagined you were there talking me through the relaxation and I did all of the things I do with you and went from feeling like I was going to be violently sick and ill to calming myself right down and managing to go back to sleep! My husband couldn't believe it. I didn't even consciously do it, it just kicked in. I'm so grateful!"

My shyness  and anxieties were getting in the way of my  job prospects and career development

Paul was very clear about the help he wanted. He knew he was shy but he had a young family and he needed a better job. He knew he was technically skilled but he couldn’t manage his emotions well at all and would feel victimised, socially inadequate or anxious. I guided and coached Paul as he worked through the seven sessions of the Thrive Pogramme.

Paul wrote:

I had a telephone interview for a job earlier in the week and received the following feedback, which I will certainly be reminding myself of in the coming weeks. I definitely feel the programme helped me focus on the positive side of my abilities in this interview, an area I hadn't been great at in the past. "Your feedback was positive, you came across as commercial, focused on outcomes, technically strong and actually got to the heart of some of the challenges and opportunities. Paul W

I just couldn't sustain any of my business development. It all felt so out of my control".

I’m no longer a people pleaser - I have confidence in my own decisions and I am proud of my business,” says Sue, the owner of a marketing company. “I have learned to sustain my business growth that in the past would have faltered because of how I was feeling.” Sue H. Network Marketer

My business took a real hit last year and I wasn't coping"

“From the very first conversation it stopped the slide and gave me some hope,” he shares. “I was very down but this helped my self-esteem and I use some techniques with people I work with, which has been powerful. The processes of control were insightful; I still use aspects of it quite a bit. When I do get quite stressed or overwhelmed, it is so helpful going back over the books and rereading processes and reinforcing what I have been taught. Allan S. Editor

Although I’m a coach I coudn’t seem to help myself"

“The course was definitely worth the money, it stopped my slide (into depression) and put me on a better trajectory. I continued sessions but soon I was on a better direction. We even used Skype, when I had sessions I would take a day off work to travel from London because they were so valuable to me.” Brian. Business Coach for seior execuatives in blue chip companies.

"I knew I was stopping our business grow"

"I’ve been working with Kate on the Thrive Programme for the last few weeks. Thrive is a skills-based course developed by Rob Kelly and delivered by various consultants over a period of six or seven weeks. It’s simple to understand and the basic techniques are easy to implement and maintain.

Kate is at all times patient, professional, focused and encouraging. Where necessary, Kate challenges you to consider the effect that any inherent unhelpful thinking styles have on your business, and then shows you how to bring about change. The process has been invaluable for us as a small family business, and I can say without hesitation that any further employees taken on by our business will be offered the opportunity to see Kate and take part in the Programme. Throw away the business self-help books as you will no longer need them – just do the Thrive Programme! " Rachael W. Attorney

What is Thriving?

Ilona Boniwell writes “positive emotions broaden our attention and thinking which in turn means that we have more positive thoughts and a greater variety of them”. What she is implying is that when we experience things like happiness, pleasure or joy, or that we are interested or curious in the world around us we are far more likely to be creative and open minded. Thriving is not languishing in the realms of OK. Thriving is moving forward and has no end point. The world really is your oyster.  This is what thriving looks like. I know what I would prefer, what about you?

Thriving is having the skills and resources to be able to bounce back quickly from any problems, illnesses or other issues in life, overcoming obstacles and living the life you want quickly and easily. We all can face difficulties in our lives, some of our own making and some that we have no control over at all and the sense of powerlessness can be overwhelming.   I am going to show you how to build your own strong psychological foundations so that you make the changes in your life and be the person you want to be.  The Thrive Programme will teach you not only awareness and self-insight but also skills that you need in order to thrive. It's an exciting prospect don't you think! Problems Helped

Thriving in the Workplace - Helping your business Thrive

When you decide to strike out on your own in business, it’s your vision for a successful future that you need to focus on. You’ll be the creative force who’ll be driving that vision forward, but running your own business will never be a smooth ride. So to be resilient enough to cope with the ups and downs of the business world you’ll need a whole set of skills and resources to help you. The trouble is some people might not have the robust psychological foundations that are crucial to long-term success.

So what can you do? It’s all about personal development. Firstly, be mindful that, while it’s not often acknowledged, one of the reasons business fail is because the business owner may not have the resilience to bounce back when things get tough. The Thrive Programme ™ can teach you how to build those strong psychological foundations so when life’s inevitable ups and downs arrive, you’ll be able to weather the storm. The programme will help you to understand yourself properly, adjust your personal skills, consider goal setting plans and develop psychological foundations to help you get back in control, move forward and keep your business thriving. It’s a personal development plan that works.

Whether you chose the Thrive Programme ™ or Helping your Business Thrive ™, you’ll go on a guided learning course in self-improvement which is conducted on either an individual basis or as part of a small group. Everyone goes through stress at work so together a group situation can work well as part of your personal development plan. However, you can decide which approach would work best for you. Working with me, you will develop a detailed understanding of yourself and the way you tick. Goal setting will be important to see the results of your self-improvement process. After that work is done, you’ll be equipped to identify areas where you can make positive changes.

So as you begin your journey as a solepreneur or a small business owner, ask yourself these three important questions. Your answers and understanding them will help you on the road to be healthy and happy, not just in your personal life but your business life too.

1. Do you think that you are resilient and personally equipped enough to cope with setbacks?

2. Do you find that you create unnecessary work and put yourself under a lot of stress and pressure?

3. Do you lack confidence in your judgements and worry a lot about others opinions?

If your answer is ‘Yes’ to any of these questions, then investing in The Thrive Programme ™ will be a really benefit, not only to you but the success of your business too.

But please don’t just take my word for it. Here are the thoughts of those who’ve already been on this journey and started to thrive.

“I’m no longer a people pleaser - I have confidence in my own decisions and I am proud of my business,” says Sue, the owner of a marketing company. “I have learned to sustain my business growth that in the past would have faltered because of how I was feeling.”. Sue H. Network Marketer
